Overview
Java Back-End Developer with 6+ years of experience, strong technical expertise in Java, Spring, and backend development. You deliver high-quality, maintainable code, work with APIs and CI/CD pipelines, apply best practices including TDD and Agile/Scrum, and collaborate across teams to build reliable, high-performance applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Translating requirements into high-quality code.
- Designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, reusable, and reliable applications.
- Backend part: Java and Spring Framework (this will be most of your activities).
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship new features.
- Working with outside data sources and APIs.
- Ensuring the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
- Applying development best practices to ensure the quality of your code.
- Identifying and correcting bottlenecks and fixing bugs.
- Being involved in the Ops activities (setup of CI/CD pipelines).

Participating in API automation testing as part of your development activities.
Must Have Skills
- At least 6 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent by experience.

Technical experience is mandatory.
- Understanding of OO principles, DDD, design patterns, and best practices such as SOLID principles.
- Ability to write readable code and perform refactoring where necessary.
- Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD) and practical experience using it.
- Willingness to pair program.
- Proven knowledge of Java, Spring, Maven, and databases.
- Proven knowledge of RESTful APIs with Swagger (YAML).
- Proven knowledge of version control systems (Git).
- Proven knowledge of Continuous Integration/Deployment principles (Jenkins or alternative).
- Proven knowledge of SAST tools (such as SonarQube, Fortify, NexusIQ, or alternative).
- Knowledge of Docker, containers, and Groovy.
- Solid experience working in Agile environments, with practical experience in Scrum.
- Sound knowledge of English.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus.
- Experience with React and Node.js is an asset.
- Actively share knowledge and suggest improvements to squad members.
- Continuously improve squad ways of working.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and open to feedback.
